Lawmakers stripped the airline of a $50 million jet fuel tax break to punish it for severing its relationship with the NRA.
THE GEORGIA SENATE ON Monday moved to strip a generous tax benefit from Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines after the carrier cut ties with the National Rifle Association over the weekend.
Republicans who control the state Senate voted to remove a $50 million jet fuel tax sale exemption out of a larger tax package that has already passed the state legislature, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The move came after Delta faced criticism from conservatives statewide, including Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, a Republican who is running for governor.

PC virtue signaling has a price (maybe)
Good, actions have consequences, make them pay for their knee jerk idiocy.
Delta. Not even Beta.
Good! Lets hope they follow through with removing Deltas little tax treat.
GA just climbed up on my list for retirement states. I think we will move to that county that requires gun ownership.
Cagle may have just gotten my vote in the gubernatorial primary.
GA FReeper ping.
This hopefully just the first salvo....these liberally run leftist corps. must face the consequences of their actions!!
Get as you give.
Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldnt pay, so his master ordered that he be soldalong with his wife, his children, and everything he ownedto pay the debt.
But the man fell down before his master and begged him, Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all. Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt.
But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment.
His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. Be patient with me, and I will pay it, he pleaded. But his creditor wouldnt wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.
When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldnt you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you? Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.
Thats what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.
Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about.
Go, Georgia.
Good.
Delta doesn’t get to take my tax money then spit in my face.
Bravo, GA Senators! Obviously,Delta doesn’t need that $50 mil subsidy from the state, because it is so wealthy it can tell thousands of NRA members to get lost.
Hope the tax break is eliminated, that will send a great message.
Bttt.

So how with the libs frame their response? Are they going to support big business (delta)?
Erik Erickson likened this to Obamacare requiring the Little Sisters of the Poor to provide birth control.
Erik went insane during the last election cycle. Apparently he hasnt recovered
I would hope that taxpayers are asking, "Why are we handing them 10's of millions of dollars, to begin with?".
Great for GA......
Cagle is a good guy. Great family. Solid values
This is stupid.
It makes republicans look like they are legislating based on political opinions. It also looks like extortion.
They should stop.
