Survey: Americans Blame School Shooting on Government, Not Guns
Beitbart ^ | Feb 27 2018 | Awr Hawkins

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows that Americans blame government rather than guns for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

According to Rasmussen, 54% of Americans believe government failure is to “blame for the mass shooting.” Only 33% of Americans blame guns. Eleven percent of Americans say they are unsure what contributed to the occurrence of the mass shooting.

When the sample group was adjusted so as to focus only on Americans “who have children of elementary or secondary school age,” the percentage of Americans who cite government failure as causal jumped to 61 and the percentage who blamed guns dropped to 23.

The smart politicians will get out in front of this while the rest are left to demagogue for gun control.

The blame and responsibility lies clearly with government institutions dominated by Broward County Democrats. Their failure to remove a dangerous and imminent threat to an entire school resulted in a school massacre. Allowing students to break laws has consequences, and this sanctuary discipline agreement created by government employees did exactly that:

COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT ON SCHOOL DISCIPLINE -NOV 5, 2013
THIS AGREEMENT entered into between:

1.THE SCHOOL BOARD OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA - Ralph Runcie- Supt.
2. CHIEF JUDGE OF THE SEVENTEENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT- Peter M. Weinstein
3. OFFICE OF THE STATE ATTORNEY - Michael J. Satz
4. LAW OFFICE OF THE PUBLIC DEFENDER - Hon. Howard Finklestein
5. SHERIFF OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA- Scott Israel
6. FORT LAUDERDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT -Franklin Adderley
7. FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE JUSTICE- Wansley Walters
8. FORT LAUDERDALE BRANCH OF THE NAACP -Marsha Ellison
9. JUVENILE JUSTICE ADVISORY BOARD - Marsha Ellison

and in collaboration and consultation with a committee of stakeholders that include representation from the Broward Teacher’s Union, Broward Principals’ and Assistants’ Association, District Advisory Council, Diversity Committee, Children’s Services Council of Broward County, State Representative Perry Thurston, State Senator Christopher Smith, and State Representative Gwyndolen Clarke-Reed for the purpose of establishing a cooperative relationship between agencies involved in the handling of student misbehavior.

I’m hoping that the dems will run on gun control, support for illegal immigration/open borders, #metoo, hatred of whites, and Russia Russia Russia. Then they could throw in repeal of the tax cuts. They have nothing else. Has anyone heard them say anything else over the last 2 years?

#5 provides the names of signatories.

Note that Broward’s Juvenile Justice Rep. and NAACP are one and the same— Marsha Ellison. This program was designed for them because Broward had the highest number of juvenile arrest in the state.

Marsha Ellsion head of the NAACP Broward since 2005.

Robert W. Runcie and Marsha Ellison: Eliminating the schoolhouse to jailhouse cycle
November 9, 2013|By Robert W. Runcie and Marsha Ellison

It is startling that in the 2011-2012 school year, Broward County Public Schools led the state of Florida in the number of students arrested on school campuses. The majority of these incidents involved non-violent, misdemeanor incidents. Over half of these students had never been referred to the Juvenile Justice System prior to these incidents.

School safety is a priority and students must face consequences for their actions. However, we also know that arrests and contact with the criminal justice system severely hinder a student’s chance of graduating on time, attending college, joining the military and getting a job.

Across the country, failing zero-tolerance policies are also creating higher dropout rates, lowering academic achievement and resulting in students, particularly students of color, not receiving the help they need.

This is why BCPS, in partnership with community organizations like the NAACP, local law enforcement and government agencies, came together on Nov. 5 to sign a historic Collaborative Agreement on School Discipline to eliminate the “schoolhouse to jailhouse pipeline” through programs such as PROMISE (Preventing Recidivism through Opportunities, Mentoring, Interventions, Support and Education).

PROMISE is a unique Broward County initiative designed to address the needs of students who commit non-violent behavioral infractions that previously could have resulted in the student entering the Juvenile Justice System.

Through the PROMISE program, students are temporarily placed in an alternative educational setting, in lieu of arrest, where they receive behavioral supports, counseling and mentoring in an environment focused on helping them make better life choices.

As part of the collaborative agreement, we continue efforts to establish and implement guidelines to handle school-based student misbehaviors. Already this school year, we are seeing positive results including a decrease in suspensions by 66.2 percent compared to the same time period in 2012. Expulsion abeyance placement was also reduced by 51.4 percent and school related arrests are down by 40.7 percent.

BCPS and the NAACP are committed to producing and supporting scholars, innovators, and leaders for America and the global community. By working together, we demonstrate to the nation a proactive strategy for minimizing the number of children funneled from our schools to our criminal justice system for non-violent misdemeanor offenses.

Most importantly, we are establishing a disciplinary system that will increase student achievement, student engagement, access to college and strengthen our community for this generation and those to come.

Marsha Ellison is Fort Lauderdale NAACP president and Robert W. Runcie is Superintendent Broward County Public Schools.

Thanks for the heads-up. Now we’ve got a list of the stupids that colluded in the deaths of 17 teens.

The depths of their stupidity cannot be overestimated.

They’ve fomented death and destruction in Broward and brought Broward into total direspute.

Broward’s “protect the criminals” inanity will long live in infamy.

——COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT ——

The left wingers collaborated. The document is ironclad proof of the collaboraation to commit crimes. Given the scope of the criminal activity, the RICO laws are likely available for prosecution , all the way to Jessee Jackson. the NAACP and the President of the United States.

1) The shooter is to blame for the shooting
2) The government is responsible for allowing him to commit the shooting as he was identified as a high risk and the government did nothing.

Cruz had been doing far better at the Cross Creek facility. Is that a public or private school, I do not know. But if public, then surely private could have surpassed it.

Part of the problem is expecting government to do everything. This is a recipe for sinecures rather than caring.
