I never saw one on display at Dick's but there were many other rifles not on display either.
When I speak of assault rifles I am referring to the select-fire military grade weapon. Unless they've had a contract to supply military units, they've not sold them.
Dick’s, when will you stop selling assault knives? Or matter of fact, stop delivery of products by motor vehicles (semitrucks), or if you want to be safe...stop selling swimming gear, since drowning is deadlier than guns...
They stopped selling AR-15s back in 2012 following the Sandy Hook shootings so this statement by Dick’s is just blowing steam.........

I stopped shopping there in 2012, the last time they banned “assault rifles” (actually, normal semi-auto rifles).

Dick’s is an absolute marketing and distribution machine, they make very few missteps. If this is a misstep they’ll correct it and move on.

As a side note, I don't know one firearm enthusiast who would go to Dicks, a specialty sporting goods store that just happens to sell some guns in the back room, to purchase a firearm..........So their alleged stand against AR-15's is nothing more than an attempt to pander to the left wing lunatics........
I’m old enough to remember when Dicks banned the selling of sporting rifles after, Sandy Hook. Didn’t last long. This is just an advertisement ploy for the company.

Even those drooling in cups knows that, but the leftist/media consider all guns assault weapons. They play with words in an effort further their twisted agendas and narratives. They don’t give a wit if the term is inaccurate or not, as long as it promotes their agendas.
