I remember them doing this after Sandy Hook. Thats when I stopped going to them.

They were having an AR-15 sale the weekend before Sandy Hook. I was there with a crowd of other guys looking (it was a really good sale), but I could not bring myself to buy something that ugly. I started to hand it back and the guy behind me asked to see it. I handed it to him and he slapped down his plastic without even looking at it. I checked in after their announcement and they did remove all AR-15 variants.

I did not know they had a subsidiary that continued to sell them. What was its name?

To each his own, I guess. I have never thought of the AR-15 as being particularly ugly.

It's no M1A or Thompson M1928A1 but I wouldn't call it ugly.

Now, if you want to see a truly ugly firearm, check out the Shevchenko PSh-4 or the Korobov TKB-059.
