Oh come one...look at the issues:
You want “federal” conceal carry? What happened to states rights? You don’t like the conceal carry law in your state, vote in better candidates or move. Anything “federal” is always a watered down mess...no thank you.
Raising age to 21 to purchase a firearm will fail the first constitutional test...you can be 18 and join the military and operate all types of firearms but you can’t buy a firearm? Unconstitutional.
Mental health issues? Will never pass first constitutional challenge based on due process.
Much ado about nothing. All show and theater and a set up for Democrats who will sit at the table (like DACA) and do nothing.
A person can enlist in the military at 17, with parental consent.
I am pissed with Trump right now, but I agree with you that the "national reciprocity" thing was not - and is not - a good idea, and that states should have the call. A neighboring state a half an hour's drive from me sucks on carrying weapons, and that is one reason I never go there... another is that that there is nothing in that state's cities worth a damn (Dem/Prog cesspools). If the people here who hate guns move there, and the people there who like guns move here, everybody wins.
States rights?! So you say stars have rights to abridge and infringe upon you constitutional rights? Oh silly me, lets have 50 states of different laws for national constitutional rights. Bet you dont travel state to state so do not care. Try traveling to NY, CA, IL and see how your rights work. Get over your anti-federal government bias and get real about having meaningful rights that are not dependent upon state, county, and city lines.
BTW, 21 already passed constitutional muster. Extending it from handguns to all is simply a law away, one Trump has signaled willingness to sign. Explain that to a member of the military entrusted with all forms of weapons, yet can buy and carry one, who then gets killed by a car jacket. Or yours or a friends daughter who is 18 or 19 and cant defend against a rapist.
