Once Pol Pot's forces had sufficiently disarmed the populace, the Khmer Rouge did not even bother to waste bullets on their victims. Their lives were deemed that cheap.
Instead, they just bashed their heads in with pipes, broken cam shafts, clubs...and just left their bodies to rot in the fields.
