What do you lose if you don't support advocacy groups like the NRA? It's pretty simple. Lobbyists and activist groups work on Congress and on legislatures. They work tirelessly to influence opinion and to promote 2d amendment freedom.
Would Congress be supportive of gun rights if these groups were banded together to make politicians pay at the voting booth for violations of 2d amendment freedom? Absolutely not. We know the swamp is bought and paid for by the highest bidder. We don't like to acknowledge that, but "Chamber of Commerce" is a curse word in most of red state America.

What that means is that Free Republic is YOUR voice. It means it is a big deal when it comes to navigating and hearing conservative opinions. And there is no doubt that Free Republic is more influential during election seasons. With pride, Free Republic was on the forefront of news during the recent Trump campaign. Freepers were at rallies, at precincts, at shopping centers, and filing reports.
And Free Republic did this without one single outside dollar, without one advertisement gumming up your computer, and without one covert power broker calling the shots secretly behind the scenes.

I know that in about 3 months this place will be humming again with election fever. The freepathons roll along faster and the intensity is high.
I don’t disagree with the focus on elections.
I just think the legislating part in between is WHY we have those elections.
Are you aware PayPal is anti NRA / 2nd Amendment?

Yeah, it’s a struggle because I’ve used PayPal in the past for convenience at several online retailers
Some years ago, I set up a recurring monthly payment on my credit card. I don’t even notice it. Free Republic is SO WORTH a monthly amount. Since I refuse all of the print news, this is a bargain.
Please never let us lose this forum. It is our freedom.
I have an account with about 50 bucks in it that’s been there for about 2 years now. I suppose I should close it and get my 50 bucks. It’s easier to use a credit card.
I just renewed by American Legion, AmVets, and NRA memberships recently.
I should have paid for them with my PayPal money.

I remember during the last election how often free republic or something being pushed on free republic made the news.
Our refusal to accept the polling of the leftists, I believe, had a major impact.
We dissected their foolishness and found it wanting.
Makes sense. Wonder how long that will be?
Folks, we can’t boycott every business on the planet.
If I paid attention to these boycotts I’d have a new cell phone, a new cell provider, a new cable service, a new... every few months.
PayPal does a good job. I use it quite often.
