I must admit some puzzlement, however. Wouldn't it make a lot more sense to change the mascot to the "Lenox Commies"? Look at the nifty, heroic mascot they could have below. It would be SO MUCH less divisive in Lenox because everybody can be a party member, but not everybody can be a millionaire.
Superintendent Timothy Lee thinks the vote puts the issue to rest. Ha! He has another think coming.
It is obviously racist because most millionaires are white.(s)
If they want to be politically correct, just change to a million pesos. done.
> Students last spring voted to change it because it is divisive <
If ‘Millionaire’ is divisive, then every mascot can be seen as divisive. Every last one of them.
My suggestion: Call every mascot by the generic name ‘Mascot’. So the mascot of Lenox School would be the ‘Lenox Mascot’.
Oh, wait. That won’t work. The word ‘mascot’ is of French origin. It’s divisive to favor one language over another. Sigh. Back to the drawing board.
Looks like the student ripped off the Monopoly Man image.
In today's politically correct, socialistic/communistic society, being rich and successful is abhorrent.
Being a “millionaire” isn’t what it used to be.
Not that I am one, yet, but this isn’t the 80’s.
If you have a 401K these days, a lot of people in their 50’s and 60’s are really close if not there.
