It is pure projection. They genuinely hate us, and truly believe that we hate them.

I absolutely agree with the first part. When at social gatherings, I usually keep my politics (and my religion) to myself. So I'm seen as neutral, or apolitical, and liberals speak freely in front of me.

And I am amazed - and disturbed - at how verbally violent they get at the mention of Trump, or of any conservative.

As to the second part of your statement, I dunno.
