Devin Nunes Asks Jeff Sessions What He’s Doing About FBI Violations of FISA Protocols

The Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes (R-CA), is asking Attorney General Jeff Sessions whether the Justice Department is investigating what appears to be a “clear violation” of FBI protocols. In a letter sent on Thursday, Nunes laid out the protocols that FBI agents appear to have violated in using the Steele dossier to obtain a surveillance warrant on a Trump campaign member under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

He cited FBI guidelines that officials must follow when requesting FISA warrants, including that “Only document and verified information may be used to support FBI applications [FISA] to the court [FISC].”

Nunes said in his letter that “former and current DOJ and FBI leadership have confirmed to the Committee that unverified information from the Steele dossier comprised an essential part of the FISA applications related to Carter Page.”

"What in the hell is Sessions doing about anything?"

Pot smokers seem to be his biggest concern at the moment.

The DOJ’s ignoring of “Sanctuary” Cities and States alone is a national disgrace.. No one can make the case that there is any such thing as local or state immigration law, as it does NOT exist!"

Since there are no border checks in between states, of course immigration should be handled at the national level (aside from that's what the Constitution says).

I think the protocol which has evolved is that the
evidence is submitted to the media. If the evidence
implicates a conservative then further investigation
or indictment is called for and various agencies determine
which agency has jurisdiction. If evidence implicates
a liberal it is entered into a pool. The various media
outlets take turns allocating 30 seconds worth of
broadcast time before shelving the information.

Wrong! He’s playing Rubik’s cube by moving around all the issues.

We need Nunes right where he is.

Any lawyer at DOJ should be able to do what needs doing.

It’s just like Trey Gowdy said recently when he pointed out in his frustration that Congress can’t prosecute anyone!..

Congress can't prosecute, but there is something the Republicans in Congress can do. They can make sure Trump doesn't get impeached, if Trump were to fire Sessions, Rosenstein...and Mueller.

So Gowdy can act frustrated, but he'd be one of the first Republicans to stab Trump in the back if Trump were to clean house at the DOJ and the FBI.

I too read Lifsons wishful thinking article. He is not quite as bad as the totally delusional posters at Conservative treehouse who actually insist that sessions has 13000 indictments already done and ready to reveal. I tell you some of these sessions defenders are so delusional as to be borderline mentally ill.

RosenWeasel signed the 4th FISA Application.

What is Rip van Sessions going to do about that?

Celebrate over Dinner out?

Maybe you should take a look at the Judiciary committee letters to IG Horowitz. An investigation that Sessions isn’t recused from.

What in the hell is Sessions doing about anything?.. It’s kinda like having Barney Fife as AG!..

Sessions is doing a pretty good job of protesting Hillary Clinton as well as protecting the other people in the DOJ and FBI who are protecting her.

Comparing Sessions to Barney Fife isn'r really fair - to Barney Fife.

Barney Fife was a well meaning bumbler.

Sessions isn't a bumbler so there must be other reasons for what he is doing - and not doing.

And none of those pssible reasons are honorable or in keeping with his oath of office.

President Trump gave Sessions his trust and the honor of being selected and appointed Attorney Genera.

All sessions has done so far is aid and abet President Trump's enemies who are also the enemies of every loyal, honest, patriotic American.

Of course Sessions is a do-nothing. He was a senator, wasn’t he?

“American Thinker recently had a piece about how Sessions seeming lethargy at DOJ is a calculated strategy by him and Trump (along with Trump’s Tweets attacking Sessions) to distance Sessions from Trump’s image with Democrats, so that when Sessions brings the hammer down on people like McCabe, or even Clinton, he will seem independent.

Take it with a grain of salt.... “

I have yet to find one person who believes that there’s some grand plot between President Trump and Jeff Sessions to eventually bring the hammer down on the Deep State, that can tell me WHY such a conniving administration of justice would be necessary in the first place.

Every president has a Justice Department and an AG that he is expecting to carry out what concerns him.

Why does President Trump have to act as though he had never met Jeff Sessions?

It makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I am just as confused, doesn’t make any sense. The American public is MORE than ready to accept whatever they charge HRC and O, throw them in Gitmo and get on with it.

My question to President Trump is “ Exactly how much patience do the American public have to have? “

Shaking My Head,

Take it with...The Great Salt Lake...perhaps?

Out there they certainly believe some things that make more sense than all this hypergalactic, Sun Tzu, Master of Strategy folderol that’s been circulating about Sessions.

Guy needs to $#!t or get off the pot.
