McCabe is Under Internal DOJ Probe for Allegedly Approving Leaks to Media
One America News Network ^ | Mar 2 2018 | OAN Newsroom

An internal investigation is launched against former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe after new reports suggests he authorized government leaks to the media. According to the two reports released Friday, a Justice Department watchdog group will investigate allegations.

McCabe allegedly allowed FBI officials to speak to the media about ongoing investigations, including a probe into the Clinton Foundation prior to the 2016 election.

The classified information was then published in two Wall Street Journal articles.

McCabe allegedly misled watchdog investigators when they initially asked about the media disclosures

The DOJ inspector general is expected to release the reported finding in the coming weeks.

No. And I think it is better to view OIG action as resulting in a series of reports, not "a" (single) report.

The investigation into handling of the Hillary Clinton private server was started shortly after the election, IIRC, before Trump was sworn in. IG Horowitz has remarked that investigation will be done in March or April 2018.

what about the U1 xfer and coverup,
the murder of Seth Rich and his coverup,
the sedition, the coverup of treason,
his Fing role in Benghazi to coverup Clinton investment,
the murder of witnesses, the obstruction of justice?

and the Fing DO”J” investigates: LEAKS?

"We are aiming to release the report in late winter/early spring -- hopefully in that March/April time period," Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz said during a House Oversight and Government Reform hearing. ...

"In terms of process, we have gotten all the records we've asked for," Horowitz said in response to a question from the House panel's chairman, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.). "We've interviewed dozens of people. ... We've reviewed about 1.2 million records."

If leaking information is all they found, this is a whitewash for sure.

The IG has no power to indict? The IG is being used to waste time and divert attention.

"We are aiming to release the report in late winter, early spring. So hopefully in that March-April time period," he added. "Obviously, I can't commit to that, because, as we've seen, events can arise, issues can arise that requires us to do additional interviews or get additional records."

Hey McCabe, remember when you said “First we F*** Flynn and then we F*** Trump?” Looks like you are going to get F***ed before Trump ever does. Live that way, die that way.

Generally speaking, that fact (it is true) is an academic separation of powers. Congress only recently entertained the notion of giving IG subpoena power, which is necessary to reach a person after they leave government. IOW, "quit and you can't be compelled to testify."

As to the power to prosecute, see DOJ OIG Press releases, loaded with guilty pleas, convictions, etc. Technically none prosecuted by OIG.

OIG is an investigating authority, as is the FBI. The FBI lacks the power to indict, too.

This lack of prosecution also falls on McConnell and Ryan for not getting Deputy AGs (still pending approval) for each of the DOJ divisions (Civil, Criminal, Trade, etc.).

I would applaud a quiet appointment during recess of Congress to fill those spots to boot out the Obama holdovers.

Just a FYI update:

NYT reported March 13 (yesterday) that the FBI’s Office of Professional Responsibility has recommended actually firing McCabe before his official March 18 retirement date.
