Seven Feet Of Snow In Northern California Puts Screeching Halt To State’s Drought

A massive snowstorm Friday in Northern California could bring the state’s lengthy drought to end while leaving two feet of snow in the mountains near Los Angeles.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains has seen two feet of snow and winds gusting over 100 miles per hour. More than 22,000 Montecito residents evacuated their homes as rain continued to pound the area — California’s weather comes as a nor’easter clobbers parts of the East Coast.

“The worst of the storm has passed, and we are cautiously optimistic that due to a significant amount of pre-storm preparation we have come through this with minimal impact,” Rob Lewin, director of the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management, said in a statement.

Moonbeam and his Liberal Assembly cohorts have happily “shafted” the citizens of CA with their gasoline taxes that have raised gasoline per gallon back to near $4 per gallon. His retribution to the citizens of CA for Trump’s tax breaks. Liberal tyranny on steroids. Liberals aren’t happy unless everyone else is miserable and broke. Meanwhile, they suck up the money for themselves and their cronies.

I was in Chico for four days in January. They are keeping the lake level way down this year to complete repairs. The power plant is operating normally and is able to set the outflow equal to the inflow. Locals were telling me everything is progressing on schedule and per plan.

Baloney, the drought is permanent. Uncle Jerry said so. So let it be written, so let it be done.

All the fruit trees blossomed here in mid February, right on schedule.

Perspective! We don’t need no stinking perspective.

Maybe so.

Given they are parroting what their betters, who would never lie, are telling them, I reserve a little skepticism...

California has two seasons. Fire Mud. This is the mud one.
Plus, once this snow melts the sea level will rise and LA will be under the ocean. Screwed either way.

I did try to remind people that March is often very wet. I do hope that the Watsonville strawberries were not wiped out.

Too much Global Warming. They predicted no snow in California by 2020 ten years ago.

Which is why they did not maintain the dams.

No, I will NOT ask forgiveness, no matter how much snow you send.

Oops, correcting my post as I posted the wrong AA:

More proof positive that Liberalism is a mental disorder. Perhaps “DELTA” executives haven’t heard that you don’t mix business with politics, ya think?

The sad thing is that they could build up three or four reservoirs and catch all of this for some man-made lake and it’s be their reserve in bad droughts.

This was totally predicted by global warming models. If it hadn’t snowed it would have also been predicted by global warming models

Hey, Ca. Residents , you’re not supposed to Belly Sky down all the new snow with your mouth open wide or closed; you’re just plain not supposed to belly slide!

Yeah Donner Party stuff! Alpine Meadows reported a record 29 inches in 12 hours. Some locations reported 4 inches per hour last night.
Dumb luck for me and the wife - vacation planned at the Lake starting tomorrow!
Your storm totals are a bit low - some 3 day totals:
Squaw - 72”
Alpine - 76”
Kirkwood - 75”

I was looking at the web sites for each location and not ON THE SNOW.com LOL! Sad to say, my skiing/boarding days are over due to neck and back issues. Sigh. Nice powder in my driveway though. Squeaky and dry.

Last year dams were bursting and reservoirs overflowing and they still claimed to be in a drought (while they were emptying the reservoirs).

Like most things that involve progressive, what they claim something is about is never about that.

They use all crisis to shape the people the way they want things to be. The drought (and global warming) are just tools to beat the population into submission.
