Travelling through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops boy.
The upkeep on a 36 ft. sailboat is enormous. Wise move by the doc.
Well, they are either going to learn to sail or die in the boat. They had also better learn to dive on the hull, apply varnish, etc.!
So true. They no doubt believe the pernicious rumor that you can do anything you set your mind to do. Sometimes circumstances and sandbars intervene.
Next story about these two will be how they’re missing in the South Atlantic, or got hijacked by pirates off the coast of Africa.
They cashed in on what many think was a hoax, to the tune $17K from ignorami on the internet who will throw money away for nothing. That’s way more than they needed to salvage the last boat.
Now this guy comes along and gives them a nice big boat. Appears from the photo to possibly be around a 30 footer, more than suited for offshore cruising but a big handfull for two people who don’t know how to sail.
They probably really don’t want it!
At least they don’t have any children to endanger on it during hurricane season.
Whats the over/under on how fast they sink the new boat? Two days? Maybe a week?
Next time they sink it will be in the middle of the Atlantic.
Good luck with that.
They are obviously not Freepers or they would have mentioned the firearms lost in the first sinking.
And this stupid young couple won’t think, “Geez, what a nice guy.” They’ll think, “See? The Universe recognizes how special we are!!”
They don’t even have enough sense to get married.
Pardon my cynicism, but I think the retired physician got the better end of the deal. The cheaper end at least.
“A boat is a hole in the water, into which one must pour a continuous supply of money just to keep the rest of the whole dry.”

Their GoFu—Me page more than made up the loss in less than a week.
To bad the internet didn’t exist when a tree fell on my classic 65 Chevy.
I probably would have gotten another one given to me plus aclassicAirstream camper.
I have a piano they can have for free too, it has been an albatross around my neck
I guess they wondered what all those buoy markers were for. First lesson in boating is red, right return. LOL!
anyone want to start a betting pool on how long it will take these fools to sink their SECOND boat?
A year ago a family, who lived on a sailboat, took off to visit a friend, to help fix the sailboat, when they disappeared. Amazingly stupid. If you get a boat, learn how to boat, just like cars, there are rules to learn.
