The West knows what Ankara is up to, but wont call it by its name.
Turkish hostage-taking has become one of the most pressing problems in relations between Ankara and its Western allies. It is something that everyone knows is happening, but political leaders and diplomats are reluctant to call it by its name.
The most recent case concerns German-Turkish journalist Deniz Yucel, who was arrested in Turkey in February 2017 on accusations of propaganda for a terrorist organization. Yucel, a correspondent for Die Welt known for his journalism about Turkeys crackdown, had written articles based on the hacked emails of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogans son-in-law, Energy Minister Berat Albayrak.

In Turkey, there is no longer a rule of Law. Only the Rule of Erdogan. (taking lessons from his once close buddy Obozo)
He defies the UN security council's ceasefire resolution and increases bombing civilians in Efrin Syria.
He openly threatens Cyprus and oil exploration companies doing offshore work off the coast of Cyprus (not off the coast of the Turkish occupied portion of Cyprus). His officials said if they entered the waters off Cyprus the Turk Navy would fire on them.

It is all about oil/gas and locking Europe into position of dependency on Russia/Syria/Iran. It that not a frightening thought?
Interesting. Creepy. Likely.
Only certainty in todays news: it is almost never telling us the real story. Especially domestic news...
Only until Iran turns on Russia........................

#Turkey deploys more APCs & 155mm artillery cannons to border province #Kilis as part of military incursion into #Syria's Afrin. (This time the cargo loads were covered with tarps)
Last figures I heard, prior to this past weekend which was a big ramp up of air assaults, SDF had destroyed 43 tanks. Including those tanks a total of 51 armored behicles. Also 4 helicopters and a drone. Last number I saw on FSA deaths was about 1300. The number of Turkish military deaths are not clear. Turkey has not shown any signs of moving away from the invasion yet. This is an oil/gas play by Turkey, Russia and Iran/Assad.
