Barack Hussein Obama falsely proclaimed that he was just 8 years old in the 60s when the Weather Underground were a “thing” to protect himself from blowback over his relationship with William Ayers of the WUnderground.

The WU’s first action (beyond anything they may previously done as members of the Communist infused SDS) was the 1969 Days of Rage protest regarding the Chicago 8 trials (of the conspirators behind the 1968 Chicago DNC riots). The Days of Rage came at the last months of the last year of the 60s.

The Weather Underground was very active throughout the 1970s and still actively robbing banks and gunning cops in the 1980s.

In a newspaper interview that perversely enough ran in the NY Times on 9-11-2001, Bill Ayers said he wasn’t willing to say that he wouldn’t go back to bombings some day.

I finished this book a few months ago. Fantastic book, highly recommended. When you consider how many of these characters have been “rehabilitated” by history and by actual life (e.g., Billy Ayers), well, let’s say you won’t be very happy.

The way he was treated was absolutely disgraceful, but also absolutely to be expected from the communist-infused FedGov and treasonous enemedia (yes, even then).

Thinking now of the countless millions of young people who know nothing of McCarthy's true history, or have ever heard of the myriad seditions in this article, makes it difficult for one entering his 'winter' years to fend off pessimism re our Nation's future.

Also, note that the OP was written before the inauguration last year, and the Left did not manage to disrupt much of anything. There were some protests, and a bunch of them got quietly arrested. Other than that, as of 2018 a fair amount of the Leftist violence has faded. Antifa hasn’t been in the news recently. There were a couple of Leftist attempts to move the process to Stage 2 (the Scalise shooting, as an example) but it didn’t result in a rash of copycat Leftist incidents.

One thing that has happened is that the Right has started using Leftist tactics, and has managed to blunt many of the rhetorical weapons the Left traditionally uses. Also, for all the evidence in the OP that the Left is good at organizing, and the presence of a large number of ostensible Leftist footsoldiers, the Left doesn’t (currently) have much of a stomach for direct confrontation. In the few instances where it looked like there would be substantial, well-organized opposition coming from the Right, Leftist demonstrations/protests have fizzled. For all their deep bench, I believe that the Left does recognize that direct violent conflict against Right-wing “footsoldiers” would be a losing proposition. Their leaders may still eventually, and probably inadvertently, end up sending Leftist “shock troops” up against Right-wing “shock troops”, but they aren’t interested in seeking such conflict out.

Couple that with no one really *wanting* to go into battle; the Right wants the Union of old, and the Left wants to have something left to oppress once they’re in charge. A battle is likely to result in neither side getting what they want.
