ary D. Cohn, President Trumps top economic adviser, plans to resign, becoming the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the Trump administration, White House officials said on Tuesday.
The officials insisted there was no single factor behind the departure of Mr. Cohn, who heads the National Economic Council. But his decision to leave came after he seemed poised to lose an internal struggle amid a Wild West-style process over Mr. Trumps plan to impose large tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.
Gary has been my chief economic adviser and did a superb job in driving our agenda, helping to deliver historic tax cuts and reforms and unleashing the American economy once again, Mr. Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. He is a rare talent, and I thank him for his dedicated service to the American people.
Mr. Cohn is expected to leave in the coming weeks. He will join a string of recent departures by senior White House officials, including Mr. Trumps communications director and a powerful staff secretary.

I didn’t vote for Trump because he might appoint someone you like or don’t like. I voted for Trump. If he appoints someone you don’t like, too bad for you. And ya keep ranting about how bad Cohn is, but he’s gone.
You should find a real issue.
Sounds like a plan to me.
You have to weed them out and whittle down. You have to know how to hold em.
Looks like we are back where we started - either I join the Trump Personality Cult, or I will be mocked and dismissed.
At least half of Trump's senior executive appointments were RINOs, Democrats, or Obama hold overs.
If that is not a “real issue” to you, I have no idea what else to say.
Trump went into this trying to bring people together and rally behind him but it became obvious most everyone in D.C., including Republicans, are corrupt snakes and posers. Probably the same one's who you'd think would be perfect. It's a learning process for Trump. Many like you seem to have short memories. Trump is the only outsider in this. It's never happened in modern American history like this. Of course there are going to be some bumps along the way.
With all your complaining, it sounds you might be more comfortable voting for another professional insider like Bush a Clinton in the future. They know exactly who to appoint and hire.
Let me provide you with a glaring example who most everyone and probably you too, thought would be great; Jeff Sessions.
Sessions is great
The groupthink is wrong
-—Sessions is an enigma.-—
Well, I can agree to that
The veil is opaque.
