You think arrests and trials would not work huh?

***************

I don’t see that happening. Arresting elected officials would precipitate a political firestorm, ignite a media circus, and probably cause some serious social unrest. It would also turn those officials into sympathic figures, if not political martyrs.

The reality of the consequences would be just too great and disruptive. Cutting funds is all they understand and react to. Money is their life line. Take that away and you starve the beast into submission.

The only thing the time consuming and tedious legal”remedies” will accomplish is to provide a political justification for cutting the vital funds. And it will take many years.

I think it’s all a distraction from AG’s protection of Clinton/Obama syndicate on Trump dossier.

I said from the beginning Mueller's job was to purge the files of Obama and Hillary's criminal activity and if they could take Trump down it would be a bonus.

The whole purpose of the clause was to give the Congress a way to prevent the States from using their regulatory powers in ways to the detriment citizens of other States.

It wasn’t even about making rules to govern the activities of private Persons or privately held entities as they sought to engage in commerce among the several States, for those doing so would still be covered by the Laws of all the States they were conducting business in when they were doing business within them.

” There is no secession.”

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Alabama seceded from the Union, but California can’t? How racist. Undocumented workers now do the same stoop labor that slaves once did, and they vote, too. Slaves never got to do that. I say let the State of California secede. In fact, forcibly return them to the rule of Mexico, from whence all these undocumented migrants come. California was stolen from Mexico by evil racist white men anyway. They can have the hollyweirdos, the Bloods, the Crips, the snowflakes who assault anyone in a MAGA hat, and Nancy Pelosi for a cherry on top of the sh!t Sundae. Red counties who don’t want to secede can secede from California, just as West Virginia did from Virginia in 1861.

Strike Citizens and I believe we’re on the same page.

What it DOESN’T mean is *controlling* every aspect of interstate commerce.

Much like the interstate road system, the States may have an overseer (everyone agrees/plays by same set of rules), but they don’t need/require a Lord.

Thanks, Jim for clarifying that. Federal law is the supreme law of the land only where the Constitution explicitly states it is supreme.

I would put it this way: Federal law is the supreme law of the land only where it is “pursuant to” and consistent with the Constitution and the limited powers the Constitution delegates to the feds.

I cannot believe that any of the thirteen original states agreed to join a union from which they knew they could never withdraw. Those who say they believe this are simply deluding themselves.

Hey watch it we resemble that remark here in Arizona... LOL
and anywhere else the pizza chain “Pizza Patron” is... They accept pesos for their pizzas. I found a bunch of pesos years ago when I was doing foreclosure clean outs... asked somebody else I worked with where I went to trade them in and they told me if I wanted pizza I would not pay any exchange rate at this place... They are a company that ONLY goes into neighborhoods that are over 65% Latino. $5 hot and ready Pepperoni and I like it MUCH better than Little Caesars for sure!

Pretty sure this speech was the groundwork for that exactly...

The tone has changed I think, He sounded pretty serious to me.

Pretty sure, California is ripe to come apart at the seems when he does too!

These officials sound like they want a showdown and so do their constituents.

It’s not fair. California was invaded by millions of squatters who have tilted the state government system toward themselves. These so called sanctuary policies are unAmerican because they are being promulgated by non Americans. They should be pushed out, with military force if necessary. Then we can have a free and fair election.

The deputy is always the one who runs operations, so that isn't really unusual, it's just the things we know about this particular deputy AG that make it an issue.

I agree with you. “How dare you”, “there is no nullification”, “there is no secession”. Those are some of the harshest words I’ve ever heard spoken by somebody at his level. Sessions doesn’t talk much publicly. I think that’s probably good. This is a blast in the face, or more precisely a gauntlet. This isn’t the end of this at all, this is a step in a process.
