There has been a great deal of consternation, directed toward AG Jeff Sessions surrounding the ongoing FISA abuse scandal and the larger issues of unlawful DOJ and FBI conduct in their political investigation of candidate Donald Trump. It is a matter of great division amid people who follow the details.

That said, AG Jeff Sessions revealed tonight in an interview with Shannon Bream, that he previously appointed a DOJ official to investigate the issues delivered by Chairman Bob Goodlatte (House Judiciary), prior to receiving the request for a Special Counsel from Chairman Goodlatte and Trey Gowdy. "AND, more importantly, while the clock ticks, and the media ignores everything but Trump is guilty, the November election looms. If the democrats take back the House, Trump WILL be impeached.

How much of the vitally important conservative agenda of Trump is not or will never get done because the Mueller fraud continues while we wait to cross our t’s and dot our i’s?"

The nub of the matter. Well said.

Even if the dems don't take back the house, if Mueller can give the Repubikans enough of a legal fig leaf, they'd impeach Trump too. They want him gone as much as the dems.

You don’t rush something as big and critical as this. People expect the investigation to be done in an instant, that’s wrong. Every t has to be crossed, every i has to be dotted. It has to be perfect or it won’t fly.

Too many here would be okay with quick arrests with a flimsy case. The result would be that Hillary, et al walk. After decades of criminal activity it takes a while to get it right.

If the hand had been played when the investigation started we would have many more arkancides. The crew from NY NJ took down the mob. They are experienced. DJT knows their work and trusts them. Remember both Christy and Rudy have known him for decades. RR and CW are both connected.
We’re just dealing with another mob

It seems like most Freepers don't understand that under current law, a special counsel also operates within the DOJ.

Thanks for this Magoo update but I'm certain FReepers know a SC operates within the DOJ. The problem with this appointment is that it comes to us from the DOJ which ranks as a real Swampy move.

.

What you heard was Sessions saying we are pondering what Gowdy stated about 24 witnesses untouchable by the Toothless IG.

After how many years, it they are considering it now.

That’s precisely what he said.

One of Comey’s friends will look into it, but not really.

Wake up people.

“The ONLY reason Sessions (reluctantly) assigned someone to look into it”

You don’t know that. If you think you do post some primary source objective proof.

You don’t even know when the guy got picked. It looks like it was OVER three months ago.

No offense, but you come across as a complete ignoramus in this discussion. Read the Federal regulations governing a special counsel. WHERE ELSE WOULD THE APPOINTMENT COME FROM?

Someone we’ve never heard of has been looking at FISA stuff. Maybe someday something might happen. Or not.

Sessions has been AG for 1 year, 27 days.

“I wonder if Seasions is considering Lanny Davis for special prosecutor.”

Even Sessions wouldn’t be THAT obvious.

That piece is one of the best I’ve read so far on this entire matter. It weaves nearly every dangling thread into a coherent explanation as to what is very likely going on behind the scenes.

The interview with Sessions in the piece should be watched entirely for in the last portion it’s clear that Sessions isn’t the least bit disturbed by Trump’s recent very-public criticism of his work.

Sundance makes an excellent case that the appointment of the DOJ prosecutor was probably made sometime in midyear 2017 when the first criminality was uncovered by the IG.

I think this is all going to end spectacularly well and that the naysayers are going to be gobsmacked by the results.

I also think that a lot of mainstream reporters might soon realize that they’ve been on the wrong side all along. Maybe some will even decide that past journalistic standards made sense after all. That needs to happen for the blatant propaganda machine its become to ever be disassembled.

“I do not think they can convict Trump in the Senate, but the democrats—”

They have the votes now to convict on a ‘russian collusion’ hoax. Most of the so called Repubikans in the Senate voted for Hillary. The senate was always a sure thing.

Dem talk is becoming increasingly irrelevant and ignored. Look at TX, Ted got more votes than the entire democrat field.

“WHERE ELSE WOULD THE APPOINTMENT COME FROM?”

From the chief law enforcer himself. The top AG. The Chief executive, obviously. The reason why we have elections...

If Sessions were serious about any of this two things would be happening right now. First the IT guy that swiped Hillary server would be charged with obstruction and 2 dozen other charges. Second the FBI would be investigating the murder of Seth Rich. Neither is happening so Sessions ain’t doing squat.
