OK so this is a definite win for Kim. North Korean leaders have been trying to meet U.S. leaders on a equal footing for 70 years. But what’s in this for the U.S. and South Korea?

Trump would even get nominated?! He’s not a pathological liar or a mass murderer. They would never give it to someone just because he prevented nuclear Armageddon.
If one were cynical, one could suspect the half-century impasse was done to push U.S. weapons sales on S. Koran from connected defense contractors. But that would imply the existence of a military industrial government complex more interested in lining its own pockets at the expense of the public than in actually working to solve problems. A terribly cynical view. Terrible.

They scream at him to arrange a way to talk to the North Korean dictator (despite the fact that their "savior" was unable to get anywhere with the NORKs. Then, when he arrange to talk to the North Korean dictator, they question whether he should talk to the North Korean dictator.
Backhanded compliments will quickly turn to undermining statements from the left.
