"It was not due to “Bellicosity”"

I don't see the problem with bellicosity. Bellicosity is good. It's time for bellicosity. Mr. President, nuke the commies for mommy! Do it now!

It is actually Obama’s policies that are finally working, just like with the U.S. economy.

“Kim and Trump, two notably volatile leaders”

Trump is “volatile”? He seems pretty measured and calm most of the time (in spite of being attacked 24/7).

Kim tried one way to get something he wants, now he’s trying another. Grow up WaPo.

The Washington Post is writing something nice about Trump.

Sorry, but WaPo didn't write anything nice about Trump. Their piece is dripping with skepticism and insults.

OK so this is a definite win for Kim. North Korean leaders have been trying to meet U.S. leaders on a equal footing for 70 years. But what’s in this for the U.S. and South Korea?

”North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a.k.a. “Little Rocket Man,” to the table to negotiate away his nuclear arsenal.”

The writer of this piece sounds disappointed.

Sepuku ceremonies to follow shortly.

Just wait to see what happens if it leads to him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. :-)

For the moment, at least, it appears to be a clear-cut victory

Patently absurd. Kim is a tar baby.

Trump would even get nominated?! He’s not a pathological liar or a mass murderer. They would never give it to someone just because he prevented nuclear Armageddon.

On the other hand, NK has been wanting one on one negotiations with the US for the last fifty years, but past administrations refused NK the ‘prestige,’ if I may, of direct talks with the US. So this is giving NK what they have wanted for decades without getting anything up front for it.

If one were cynical, one could suspect the half-century impasse was done to push U.S. weapons sales on S. Koran from connected defense contractors. But that would imply the existence of a military industrial government complex more interested in lining its own pockets at the expense of the public than in actually working to solve problems. A terribly cynical view. Terrible.

But in the afterglow of the surprise announcement — hinted by Trump in a teasing visit to the White House press room and soon confirmed by South Korea’s national security adviser, standing in the West Wing driveway — questions were fast and furious.

Were direct talks between Kim and Trump, two notably volatile leaders who have traded public insults for more than a year, the best way to start what are sure to be complicated negotiations?

They scream at him to arrange a way to talk to the North Korean dictator (despite the fact that their "savior" was unable to get anywhere with the NORKs. Then, when he arrange to talk to the North Korean dictator, they question whether he should talk to the North Korean dictator.
