I would have thought that the tires on the truck would have insulated him. I’ve read stories where people have done that and were told to stay in the vehicle and not to step out on the ground.

One would think that — I recall a similar event and it boiled down to the tires being worn down enough where the steel-belted radials were exposed which allowed the electricity to flow through and killed the driver.

I would have thought that the tires on the truck would have insulated him. The tires did insulate the guy. That's why he bured to death instead of being eletrocuted to death.
