Usually Court sessions continue until late June or early July, which would match the timing of this supposed resignation.
Getting Gorsuch approved wasn't too bad because he is a conservative replacing a conservative on the bench. But, the Dems feel that they have a vested interest in Kennedy since he tends to vote with the Libs on social issues. Replacing Kennedy with another Gorsuch-like judge is a non-starter for Libs no matter who controls the Senate. Think of the attack they made on Clarence Thomas and then mulitply by 100.

"Boy it would be nice if we could have avoided the Roy Moore disaster. That seat/vote will be pivotal in SCOTUS confirmations."
So true.
That being said, does anyone here remember a Democrat supreme court nominee having to face unanimous Republican opposition? Even with commies like Kagan, the GOP always "reaches across the aisle."

It would help a lot, but Chief Justice Roberts is sometimes unreliable, isnt he? And would the new justice be an originalist?

Yes, most important is to see that Trump names another Gorsuch—instead of letting Ivanka pick one now.

Why would I want someone on the SC who could not even acknowledge that a presidential candidate (himself) must be a natural born citizen (which is certainly questionable)? ..... My comment was not directed at nor in response to you or anything you said so risking your ire I couldn't care less what you want. I do respect your right to your own biased opinion but that's where it ends. It does you no good to come here and attempt to troll me so save your breath as I do not play those kind of silly games. I stated my opinion and did not try to pass it off as fact.

FReepers will continue to besmirch that good man's name until Christ returns, won't you? _THIS_ is a big part of why I despise both the Republican and Democrat parties: both of them would rather elect a Demonrat than a Christian. They really are that obvious aren't they seeing as how there is barely a dimes worth of difference between the goals and objectives of the two failed party's?!
