The unemployment rate for black Americans fell back down to an historic low in February, after spiking up in January.
Just 6.9 percent of black adults were unemployed in February, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the second-lowest such ratio since the agency has been keeping track.
The low mark was set in December, at 6.8 percent. Then, the rate spiked to 7.7 percent, but that increase proved short-lived.
President Trump has touted the fact that black unemployment has dipped so low on his watch, including during his State of the Union address.
When the black jobless rate hit the record low in January, though, the NAACP gave credit to the long-running recovery that began under former President Barack Obama, rather than to Trump specifically, and noted that blacks still suffer much higher rates of unemployment than whites.
Nevertheless, the recovery has also shrunk the unemployment gap between black and white Americans.
Hispanic workers, too, are currently enjoying historically low rates of unemployment. At 4.9 percent in February, Hispanic unemployment is just a tenth of a percentage point above the historic low.

In an employment upswing, it’s not uncommon for the UNemployment number to slightly rise...because more people are back in the workforce looking for work (i.e. participation rate).
Another factor that may be contributing to the uptick in African-American employment - a large competing factor has been suppressed with the flight of undocumented illegals back to their country of origin, or going entirely underground as employment opportunities dry up, mostly as a result of greater use of E-Verify to determine the eligibility of the applicant to actually hold a job.
The undocumented (or fraudulently documented) illegal is the enemy of the American blacks of US citizenship.
It must have been caused by president trump’s racism...
Or possibly global warming... ...or something.
Note before the great society programs went into effect;
Black employment was higher than white employment.
Black wages were lower, but Blacks had a higher rate of being employed than whites.
Socialism destroyed all that
If they get off welfare and get to work they are likely to resent the money being taken from their earnings in taxes, and stop voting democrat.

So, right!!! There will be lots more jobs open to people once many illegals head back to Mexico. Blacks and whites have been disenfranchised due to illegals undercutting our American workers by working “under the table” for lower wages.

This should be one of the biggest campaign issues that he runs on in 2020. If he touts the drop in black unemployment and the left calls him racist, it makes them look like idiots.
