It is my belief that the Standard Products Company made neoprene pads that were bolted on to tracks providing a coushioned surface while reducing the psf contact load.

I was employed with BAE Systems in Texas.
On the Design team for the up armor
for the FMTV. We didn’t see too many
tracked vehicles, but I had remembered
they were working on tracks that would
lesson the impact of damage to city
streets, in one of their other divisions.
