When she died the history went with it. I tried but it comes back to Karliner’s. On the other side my grandpas mother was Klara Taube, a name like Smith many Jews adopted for one reason or another. No DNA here but old family did agree it was a secret. Don’t know how Jewish I am but it’s probably not a lot.I can only imagine the hardships and sometimes wish I knew more of our ancestry. I love to think of my Hebrew line(s) and now consider myself a “Jews For Jesus,” converso But that’s not the truth. I was raised Catholic and became a Christian in my teens and learned through an uncle and verified later through my grandmother of our heritage. I doubt Israel would take me without a conversion to Judaism...too goy!
