Imagine, “allowing” a teacher to take advanced training, submission to background and fingerprint checks; just so they can have equal footing to their non-law abiding students
——
Good point. But what is “advanced” training, exactly? Sounds like feel good bs that does not actually exist. And even if it did, how much time, money, and effort would certification require, PLUS the soul sucking financial and legal liability that comes with carrying a gun around a bunch of people’s kids, daily, in the 0.0001% chance that your school gets shot up... Im not seeing many teachers doing that. Or not any smart ones.

Imagine, you are on govt property with children in a high stakes game of legal jeopardy with no color of law immunity; I mean, sign me up for some of that kick in the gonads civil and legal action. I cant get enough.

Besides, who pays for, issues, and has the authority to withdraw the weapon and the authority to carry it? The principal? Its all dumb and misses the point.

If I'm a thug intent on killing for notoriety, I would lock the door to my classroom, forcibly disarm my teacher, then use that gun to kill. The neat thing is, I don't need to sneak a weapon into campus.
