I did, in college. In retrospect I probably looked like a douche.
Grew it out again last year -- my office is permissive as long as it's for charity -- but I ended up cutting it off while it was still a few inches short to donate for Locks of Love. Reactions ranged from "nice man-ban, bruh" To "what the hell are you supposed to be, Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai?" Moral of the story -- if you want to be taken seriously, don't try to do a man-bun. Not exactly a shocker but I think the phase where it was considered even remotely cool or avant-garde has passed.
“I did, in college. In retrospect I probably looked like a douche.”
Please see my post 21.
Beau and I just had this discussion. We were watching basketball playoffs during lunch and one of the guys (Ray?) had a friggin’ Man Bun! I went off on a tirade about how GAY they are, etc.
Beau said, ‘So, you’re a Hairist (racist) when it comes to Man Buns, Eh?’
Damn Skippy I am! No. Nope. No! :)
Everyone goes through a stage where they do something that in retrospect, they wish they hadn’t done.
Eh. Fortunately, most cosmetic appearance things can be shrugged off to a degree.
The great thing about silly hair fads is you can reverse them.
I was telling my family that a man bun is probably okay when you’re young. But just try to get a job with one of those hairdos. Maybe at Starbucks?
Yeah, I made fun of my friends’ long hair until he noted it was for charity, then I felt bad and will never bring it up ever again.
