I used to hate being forced to march in parades when in the USAF.
We had jobs to do, and that meant just more time to make up for the parade time.
The parade is supposed to be to honor the troops.
If the troops who would be in it would have higher morale because of the parade, good, do it.
If not, then don't.
Forget the money part. Troops need logistics training anyway, so this would be just one more logistics training exercise. Ditto the flying hours.
It would be really good training for both due to the complexity of the area.
Let France (our first ally) send a military band, and England, maybe Russia and poland, Japan and Germany, yes, and Israel, Canada, and South Korea—if a peace treaty is signed—North Korea as well. Invite leaders to attend the event, with fly overs of out best warplanes, in formations. Do it up with the American Flair—floats with pretty women, flags, eagles, Civil War re-enactors Blacks and whites. Revolutionary war soldiers, cannons, tanks, armored cars. A great lot of flags.
