The term clip has been used interchangeably with “magazine” for the detachable magazines used in guns for about a hundred years.
It is only the last 20 that people have become oversensitive to it.
Styles and usage change. Today, clip is not considered correct and magazine is the dominant usage. But using clip interchangeably with a detachable magazine has a long history.
Revolvers are not semi-automatics as the author defines it. Neither are lever-action rifles.
