GOP not conceding in Pennsylvania race, may seek recount
The Hill ^ | 03/14/18 10:17 AM EDT | By Ben Kamisar

PITTSBURGH — Republicans will not be conceding anytime soon in a tightly contested special election in Pennsylvania, where Democrat Conor Lamb holds a slim lead over Republican state Rep. Rick Saccone in Tuesday's election.

Lamb's campaign and Democratic groups have declared him the winner, as he sits with less than a 700-vote lead. NBC News also projected him the "apparent winner" early Wednesday morning as more absentee ballots trickled in.

There are still about 203 absentee ballots and then additional provisional and military ballots left to be counted, but Saccone would have to capture an overwhelming majority of those outstanding ballots to win.

-----

A source familiar with the situation also told The Hill that the GOP plans to call for all ballots and voting machines to be placed under lock and key in case of a recount. And they are also likely to file a lawsuit based off of three concerns: confusion over the Pennsylvania secretary of State's new website, allegations that Republican attorneys were kicked out of rooms where absentee ballots were counted and that Allegheny County voting machines were miscalibrated.

I saw an article in the last couple weeks that DHS has now dropped it. I didn’t keep track of the article. If they dropped it, who in hades is going to take care of this problem? This stain?

Thank you, hoosiermama. If you find a source, I’d appreciate it, and I will look.

I just did several searches and can find no articles later than mid or early February. There is very little in actual news, and it is contradictory, two example headlines:

DHS won’t do voter-fraud investigation after Trump commission shut down
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jan/16/dhs-wont-do-voter-fraud-investigation/
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen tamped down on claims her department is going to pursue an investigation into voter fraud, saying Tuesday that her role will be limited to assisting states looking to weed out their own voter lists.

Then this one, very bad article that insists there is no voter fraud:

DHS to Continue to Look Into Voter Fraud

The president may have dissolved the commission, but he turned the investigation into voter fraud over to the Department of Homeland Security

You read the remaining ballots sentence wrong. The GOP could still win in that recount. They failed to tell you how many ballots are left to be counted.

It is being fought now in the courts, since the PA SC, not the legislature is the one which wrote the new districts.

I would think that it would be effect for Nov if it survives the court challenges.

What is your opinion of the redistricting?

It is heavily favored to the Democrats and should be overturned.

The seat will become nonexistent in Nov 2018. There’ll be another election for an entirely different district created by redistricting.
Delay is a good tactic.

Is there a chance it will be overturned, do think?

Hopefully Kennedy will be retired by then and a new good guy/gal in SCOTUS.

Of course if RBG were to retire - happy dance of happy dances!

What calibaration is needed of a voting machine. It's not as though there can be rounding errors or anything. Votes are digital, e.g. they come in digits, you know, like one-potato, two-potato, which doesn't round up to 1.5 potatoes + a 1/2 a potato for the other guy. It's like saying we need to recalibrate the goal post before counting whether the kick was in or out.

You’re wrong. The Soros voting machines use floating point math to nine decimal places. They don’t use integers to count votes. It makes it much easier to steal elections by setting percentage outcomes in advance if you use floating point, but limit the display to no decimals.

We posted some demonstrations on FR of how it worked. . . It’s voting math magic when you have multiple precincts.
