STUNNING: Jeff Sessions Cited the WRONG LAW when He Recused Himself from Russian Witch Hunt – Took Advice From Obama Lawyers ( full title )

...

Sessions made the announcement the day after he was sworn in as Attorney General after advice from Obama lawyers in the Department of Justice.

...

legal expert Gregg Jarrett told Sean Hannity that Sessions used the WRONG LAW when announcing his recusal. He took advice from OBAMA OFFICIALS and they misled him.

Gregg Jarrett: He betrayed the president. He knew when he was sworn in that he was going to recuse himself and the very next day he put the recusal in motion. He never told the president about that. And by the way he cited the regulation in his recusal… He cited the wrong law. It didn’t apply.

Sara Carter: I think he was being advised badly at the time.

Gregg Jarrett: Yeah, by Obama’s holdovers. Who in the world would believe them?

I think Sessions just wanted to be AG - as a career achievement and correctly deduced that Trump would get him there.

Wonder if Sessions will be in this round of firings, or some other round later in the year.

Trump has had to bypass this empty loaf to accomplish his agenda, but Sessions “refusal” to do his job certainly delayed the Swamp cleaning, at the Holder-Lynch Justice Department and Comey FBI.

It’s all fait compli no matter what. The buck stops at the President to have appointed him in the first place. The fact that ANY Obama leftover/holdover existed AFTER AG Session is inconceivable. It’s like refusing to flush a toilet to save water.

Let's keep in mind that Rod Rosenstein wasn't even confirmed as Deputy AG until May. Between Sessions' recusal and Rosenstein's confirmation there was plenty of time for President Trump to put someone else in that Deputy AG told.

But he didn't. Not only that ... he refused to accept Rosenstein's resignation as U.S. Attorney for the Maryland District while all this was going on.

Clearly there is a lot more to this than what we've been led to believe.

>>Session’s little toadies will be by shortly to inform us all that this is all bull squeeze and that the great Sessions has a secret plan!!!<<

I was about to make this same point but I couldn’t have said it quite as well. Kudos to you!

Stealthy move, they never bothered to check it out and he has been working behind the scenes on a a mission from The Donald and too many folks here act like this is Judge Judy.

If they really understood what the succession of Executive orders from His Boss Donald J Trump have set the table for they would stop salivating for Orange Jump suits and instead be buying stock in a company that makes rope. Treason and Sedition are not a good thing to be charged with and since DJT declared a National Emergency on 11-21-2017 cases that fall under this statute will be adjudicated under a military tribunal, not a shopped venue like the DC courts. Successive orders that adhere to established rulings of the Supreme Court in the early 2000’s back him up and he has a plan, and I trust him and fully understand that there will be none of the conspirators to take down the United States Government that will be around writing books or doing interviews from their jail cell. He obviously learned well from the mistakes made at Nuremberg and will not repeat them.

Jeff Sessions works directly for The President and he can fire him at any moment he chooses but he expresses confidence in him on non MSM channels but publicly he drops hints that he is unhappy to keep them occupied

Tillerson worked directly for DJT and he is gone after a very short tenure, so why is Jeff still in his position??

Because he is doing precisely what the President wants him to be doing and if you cannot handle the truth or understand the game as it is being played then vent your spleen as you often do because after all you are smarter that his boss, Donald Trump.

This is all Kabuki theater and the press is just looking for headlines which they feed on and the plan keeps on rolling and will clean house no matter which party or position the perpetrator belongs to. Its the law!

Say what you will, this is Corporate Political savvy on display and no one in my view is better at it than DJT

Gregg Jarrett was not helpful in that segment. He did not cite "the right law" (or the right regulation, for the pedantic).

The prevailing belief is that Sessions recused from investigating anything that had to do with Russia, or some such nonsense. But by the simple act of actually reading the public recusal notice, in combination with the regulation cited, one would learn that Sessions recused from investigating the Trump campaign, because he was an adviser to it.

Before that, in his confirmation hearings, he told Grassley that he would recuse from investigating Hillary and the Clinton Foundation, because his public statements suggest he is biased against them.

>>The meek, fearful, cowardly Sessions willingly allowed the strings of THE DEEP STATE to be firmly attached to him and he became nothing more than their puppet doing their bidding.<<

True that.

Because Jim (Jack) Hoft from the blogsite Gateway Pundit is smarter than a career lawyer, federal prosecutor, US Senator, and Attorney General. What a pant load.

It wasn't Hoft, it was Greg Jarrett who made the claim. And I would bet that the Obama holdover lawyers at DOJ, who don't have our best interesting in mind, ARE smarter than Jeff.

I'll give Greg Jarrett and Andrew McCarthy some leeway on this because they're approaching it from a different perspective, but believe the main premise they've made here here is incorrect.

When Sessions first refused himself I came to a completely different conclusion: He didn't refuse himself for the reason everybody thinks he did.

Sorry -- I meant RECUSE himself.

(For some reason my phone doesn't recognize "recuse" as a word.)

He could withdraw his recusal, but I kinda think he just doesn’t want to.

"He betrayed the president. He knew when he was sworn in that he was going to recuse himself..."

That's been my gut suspicion all along. Sessions is deep state.

Sorry, my BS filters are clogged and I’m getting tired of keeping them cleaned out. Unbeleiveable as it may be, President Donald J Trump has my full support and trust to do the right thing. So until I hear him tell Sessions “you’re fired” am taking this as “fake news”
