Washington Times ^ | 14 March 2018 | Dave Boyer and Stephen Dinan

The White House said Wednesday that President Trump opposes cutting a deal with Congress to protect young illegal immigrants from deportation for three years in exchange for three years of funding for a border wall. Mr. Trump does want to see funding for his border wall included, but doesn’t think it should be tied to legal status for “Dreamers,” spokesman Raj Shah said.

...He was shooting down a Washington Post report that the White House had signaled it was open to a “three-for-three” deal, which would have allocated ...

I thought the President was in favor of such a DACA friendly plan, so long as his wall got heavily financed.
Maybe I’m the only one whose head is spinning on this topic.

I’ve heard of two-fers, but would think
three-fers are rare.
End DACA.
Deport ALL illegals.
(get back in line and follow current
laws to get back in)
End sanctuary city policies.
I would love to see a mass exodus.
Many, many more could be added to the list.
MAGA!

Build wall; no amnesty, not or ever. We’ve got 30-60 million illegal aliens to deport.

My understanding is he doesn’t want a temp fix that can be modified, or extended ad nauseum - i.e., kicking the can down the road once again. The three-for-three, I believe, was a Rino Flake idea.

Why are they forcing these people to:

Pay $495 to apply and renew for DACA? Every two years?

Live with uncertainty? Daily?

Waste valuable time going through the process? And hope their application was submitted properly, accepted without delay and didn’t get lost?

Etc
Etc
Etc

Give Americans:

Full funding for the border wall as authorised by Congress and the law.

End chain migration

End the Visa lottery

Restrict H1B

Etc

Etc

In return:

These people can have permanent status with the same stipulation as other permanent residents.

For the democrats to continue down this road is cruel and unAmerican.

End “birthright citizenship.” That is an essential piece of the puzzle!!! It is NOT mandated by the Constitution.

>>Maybe I’m the only one whose head is spinning on this topic.<<

Trump can be difficult to observe. He doesn’t state intentions. He stakes out bargaining positions.

But the lsm and the left then say “he lied” when he adjusts his position.

This is normal in business but unheard of in politics.

“These people can have permanent status with the same stipulation as other permanent residents”

I agree with your proposals. I’m happy with stopping future influx of “special foreigners”. Also, as another poster says, eliminate chain migration.

If DACA and the wall are tied, it has to be

AFTER each mile of wall is complete, 50 dreamers get legal status. (50? 20? 100? whatever is the "right" number)

Combining the issues this way will get anyone who cares about dreamers to build the wall as fast as possible (make sure it's funded, stop enviro-wacko law suites, etc).
It cannot be "2 million dreamers get status now" and the wall will be built if Dems aren't able to delay and stop it before it's done. The Dems will step up efforts to stop it with law suits, protests, etc.

It's important to get them to cooperate with the wall, not in a position where opposition is even more important. It'll have the same problem as Obamacare in that when about half the politicians oppose it there will be roadblocks all over the place and little chance of fixing problems that come up as half the politicians try to undermine it. It doesn't matter what I think about Obamacare or "they" think about the wall - issues this big need broad support or they don't succeed.

Where are the funds from Mexico that were supposed to pay for that wall? Trumps needs to start collecting when “fund transfers” are sent TO Mexico by illegals.

The wall alone — without statutory restrictions on immigration — is useless symbolism.
