Well there is something to be said about having most of your firearms in a safe place where you can take them out and use them with out digging them up every time you want to go to the range or hunting.

They do not all have to be away from your property. And you really do not have to do any of this unless you want to.

However, back in the 90’s “assault weapons” ban era, there was an internet site called MOM, which was the Militia Of Montana. It gave instructions on how to preserve weapons in case the left got too much power. Of my collection, I took one rifle, a pistol, knife and ammo and followed their instructions. The weapons stayed into the ground well into the Bush era.

Point being, it was a backup scenario. Two guns that were never on anyone’s books, never to be seen again until I dug them up and they were in perfect firing order.

I’ve noticed many preppers here on FR. Betcha they have similar or better plans.
