Sorry, not willing to give up civil liberties for momentary populous expediency. The Baker Act is quite specific and has huge ramifications for those caught in its reach. Don’t misunderstand me, it exist for a reason and some indeed require its application. BUT, FL law is very careful traditionally regarding its implication. It will follow you forever and just because someone is “odd” doesn’t mean their life should be ruined by an over zealous government. As for law enforcement, just because someone has a badge doesn’t make them psychological experts. Without due process this will end up like the current sexual climate wherein a woman can accuse you of a sexual transgression and you are stamped guilty with no due process as recourse.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but there has to be some way to get weapons out of the hands of those, who do actually present a clear and present danger to society.
