Good article.
May explain (in part anyway) why Trump canned Tillerson ?
“Less than a year ago, Nauert wasn’t even in government. Nauert, who was born in Illinois, was a breaking news anchor on Trump’s favorite television show, “Fox & Friends,”...She hadn’t specialized in foreign policy or international relations.”
The real gist of the article is that she is just a TV talking head whom Trump hired and that she can’t be capable of doing the job she holds. In reality she’s just capable as anyone with “foreign policy of international relations” experience.
Go, Heather.
She was one of my FOX favorites.
I remember when, in 2001, right after Al Gore finally lost the election, she went “under cover.” Al Gore, whose huge ego was becoming self-evident, lectured on a course in some NYC university at some grad school course. Heather tied her hair in a pony tail, played grad-student, took notes, and reported. Gawd, was she cute! Even my wife agreed.
She seemed both intelligent and good-natured. I was surprised she didn’t rise further in the FOX hierarchy over the years, and I’m glad to see her career is flourishing.
Sounds like a good move.
Has she gotten a new job? Then she has risen anywhere. She has the same job she had last year. She doesnt have anything to do with policy.
And the more I learn about Tillerson, the more I think he was a headstrong dud.
I guess it is hard to go from being the BIG boss to being a team player.
I am positive there were no articles of shock written when Obama made that wilted Marxist pullet Samantha Power UN Secretary. RATs are always qualified, uh, because they say so.
An excerpt...I did not know she was promoted after T-Rex was fired.
The moment that Trump canned Tillerson by tweet, Nauert was in a Hamas-built tunnel on the border near the Gaza Strip, on a tour organized by the Israeli military to show U.S. officials the smuggling routes used by militants. Caught by surprise by the move back in Washington, Nauert and the rest of the delegation cut the tour short and returned to Jerusalem to deal with the crisis. Soon, Trump also fired the undersecretary of state who publicly defended Tillerson.
The president named Nauert to that suddenly vacant position, near the top of the hierarchy of American diplomacy.
Nauert told associates she was taken aback and recommended a colleague for the job. But when White House officials told her they wanted her, she accepted.
“”When the ax fell on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, his spokeswoman was half a world away””
I figured that meant she was in DC but wasn’t Tillerson in Africa when he was ordered back to the US and she was in Israel? Hardly half a world away, folks...
Contrary to MSM claims, it takes close to zero skill, talent, and experience to be an accomplished diplomat. Most of the State Department slots are filled with campaign contributors, their wives, friends and masters. Like being 22 year old superstar actor Leonardo Decaprio in the Titanic, if it is a big win, everyone looks good.
Heather Nauert probably knows more International geopolitics than Kerry and Clinton (the bitch, not the predator) combined. If Trump trusts her she should be SOS.
Yikes, I want to puke Everytime I see her open her lying yap. Her lack of knowledge, repeating propagandistic talking points, in over her head.
I liked her during the Bush years. She seemed bright, and articulate. Nowadays, meh.
Anytime I saw her, I thought she was a sharp cookie.
The State Department communications are in good hands.
Okay, here’s what I found, an organizational chart of the state department.
https://www.state.gov/documents/organization/263637.pdf
It looks to me that her new position is one of six that report directly to the Secretary of State. It appears it is a State Department version of the “cabinet”.
The Secretary of State’s “cabinet”.
A very BIG job I’d say.
