I had a subscription since grade school. I stopped in the 1980s when they wasted magazine space with article after article on how Reagan deploying Pershings in Europe would cause WWIII.
I noticed that too. Always trashing the American nuclear
arsenal; describing it as "destabilizing" or "provocative".
They never described the Soviet nukes that way.
Never any criticism of the Soviets. Scientific American
became nothing but politics and Soviet propaganda.
And not to mention that it stopped being "scientific" and
started to turning into environmentalist, political left-wing garbage.
