MacArthur couldn’t win in Korea. Under his command, UN coalition suffered heavy loss, actually he was ousted from his post by China. He certainly COULD have won had the “conflict” been run by the military, who were ready to use nukes if necessary. He complained about that and as a result was canned. Yes, it was a big mistake, and led to other mistakes like Vietnam.
