WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ testimony that he opposed a proposal for President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign team to meet with Russians has been contradicted by three people who told Reuters they have spoken about the matter to investigators with Special Counsel Robert Mueller or congressional committees.

let’s see. HRC/DNC paid for fake anti-Trump Russian dossier by unregistered foreign agent and it isn’t being investigated by Mueller and his band of merry Dem donors?

helloooo. where in the headline does it say the investigation only relates to the Donald Trump campaign?

But surely you agree that if Sessions was going to recuse on his second day in office, effectively making Hillary-supporter Rosenstein the AG, he ought to have given Trump a heads up.

Surely.

“Uh huh dems are scared to death of Mr Sessions, roll on Mr Sessions you got this and more...”

Oh yeah, after more than one year, just ONE swamper fired, not even indicted, and only after multiple pressure.
Mr Magoo has shown his teeth, after his one year nap, and all signs show Mayor Schaff, gov Brown, Brennan, Clapper, Schumer, Pelosi, Comey... are all shaking in their boots.

It’s not in the headline it’s in the first paragraph...

“Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ testimony that he opposed a proposal for President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign team to meet with Russians has been contradicted by three people who told Reuters they have spoken about the matter to investigators with Special Counsel Robert Mueller or congressional committees.”

But I agree with the rest of your comment...

I’m impatient about it all too (and disgusted, and angry and....you name it) but we have to listen to what Sessions has actually said.

He hasn’t said much but what he has said, over and over again, is: “We have a procedure in place and I’m going to follow that procedure”.

That procedure involves first an investigation by the Inspector General and that’s what’s finally nearing completion.

If, after the IG report is released, Sessions still does not act, then it’s time to bring the hammer. Till then, we do ourselves a huge disservice if we don’t give him the benefit of the doubt. The man has been an honest conservative his whole life. I don’t hink he’s going to let the country down.

"Please don’t attribute hate to people who merely wish Sessions were happily employed in a different line of work, or happily retired."
----------------------

You ask them too much. Sessions fanboys resort to insults because that's all they have to defend Mr Magoo. They use the classic libtard's ad hom tactics and lexicon (like "Sessions haters"), then qualify anyone underwhelmed by Sessions "performance" as stupid, isn't that rich?

Nope, I have logic, reason, and an understanding of the importance of building a case based on actionable evidence as opposed to knee jerk stupidity.

Welcome to FR, noob.

It’s rich—or my favorite characterization—incredible. What has Sessions done to merit such extreme loyalty? He made Hillary-supporter Rosenstein Acting AG, and then turned his attention to other things. People have been trying to convince me those other things are very important. Well, no—not if the principle act turned the DOJ over to one of the prime plotters to defeat Trump and elect Hillary.

It’s like the engine of a car being on fire, and somebody pointing out how well maintained the tires are. The sense of proportion is simply not there for the Sessions-backers.

Sessions is talking nonsense. Just like when he recused himself about anything Russian and even anything Hillary (he said that before the Congress!!!), he is wrong or utterly dishonest.
It’s not the procedure to wait for the IG, because 1) the IG has very limited scope 2) a government agency can not investigate itself. Congressmen like Jordan or Nunes have said that repeatedly.
Sessions has pulled the “follow the procedures” out of his hat. He doesn’t give a damn about procedures, for example by doing nothing against sanctuary cities (except sending “strongly worded letters”) or by letting Rosenstein and Mueller free reign in harassing the President, knowing well these scums are up to the neck with conflicts of interest.

Why anyone would give Useless weasel Sessions any credibility is beyond comprehension.

Lol. I kind of wonder if a lot of them are the same people who are on this db promoting Putin. In other words, I think there are a lot of people on this db who just stir things up for no good reason other than to split us all apart.

“Building” a case, like building a case against IRS’ Lerner or Clapper, two shining examples of Sessions performance, right?
You have nothing to defend Sessions, you delusional poseur.

Perfectly legal for any campaign to meet with anyone they like. Hilary Clinton campaign repeatedly met with Christopher Steele Steele and Fusion GPS, then in conjunction with the Russians, concocted a fake dossier which they then used to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. That is the real crime here.

So you seem to know so much about what Sessions is and isn’t doing, why don’t you back brief us after you get out of his next staff call?

So stinking clueless.

Oh, you are being utterly ridiculous now.
I don’t know any more about Sessions than many Congressional committees members like Jordan, Nunes, Goodlatte, etc who have spent months investigating and done things Sessions should have done and being obstructed by Sessions’ DOJ. They know a hundred times more than me and a thousand times more than poseurs like you and they have documents and evidence to back up their public statements, not just beliefs, innuendos, delusions and hope typical of Sessions asslickers. And they are mad as hell of Sessions inaction, procrastination, obfuscation.

So who is clueless now?

Sessions’ DOJ in action:

‘The Justice Department is refusing to reveal details of the process that led up to former FBI Director Robert Mueller being granted an ethics waiver to serve as special counsel investigating the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.’

An ‘ethics waiver.’

For Robert Mueller.

Thanks, Jeff.

Wow...that's news to me. Not surprising. I followed judicial watch on twitter and the amount of stonewalling from jeff sessions' Obama's DOJ was astounding.

Sessions has no obligation to tell any of those grand standers anything in an office setting and will not comment in hearings on open investigations. As it should be. He tells them something and it is out in the street in 5 minutes.

Outreach is normal & not a crime. Why are we proceeding from the assumption that an incoming President cannot begin to frame his foreign policy?
