Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt will soon end his agencys use of secret science to craft regulations.
We need to make sure their data and methodology are published as part of the record, Pruitt said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller News Foundation. Otherwise, its not transparent. Its not objectively measured, and thats important.
Pruitt will reverse long-standing EPA policy allowing regulators to rely on non-public scientific data in crafting rules. Such studies have been used to justify tens of billions of dollars worth of regulations.
EPA regulators would only be allowed to consider scientific studies that make their data available for public scrutiny under Pruitts new policy. Also, EPA-funded studies would need to make all their data public.
When we do contract that science out, sometimes the findings are published; we make that part of our rule-making processes, but then we dont publish the methodology and data that went into those findings because the third party who did the study wont give it to us, Pruitt added.
And weve said thats fine were changing that as well, Pruitt told TheDCNF.
Conservatives have long criticized EPA for relying on scientific studies that published their findings but not the underlying data. However, Democrats and environmental activists have challenged past attempts to bring transparency to studies used in rule making.

Common sense.....
I had no idea this was going on. It’s corrupt.
I’m so glad Trump is in charge.
Secret science? No chance for fraud there!/s
The Trump team is hard at it, bucket at a time. Keep it up.
No one applauds President Trump’s efforts to be rid of onerous regulations more than me.
But, why is our liberty dependent on who occupies the White House?
Our nation demands institutional, constitutional change to prevent future administrative state tyranny.

This is mind-boggling. It isnt science if you dont have the data. How can you challenge a study you disagree with if all you have is the results?
Terrible, terrible policy.
“Secret Science”.
Ooooooo, the Left has a new buzz phrase.
Remember the democrats swoon over the term “Alternative Facts”?
The EPA should be abolished in its current form. It basically amounts to Congress ceding its lawmaking power to an extraconstitutional agency, something the Framers never would have endorsed.
This is excellent. Pruit is kicking a$$ there at EPA. What a great pick to head it.
MAGA!!!
What about the EPA’s use of secret email accounts to target businesses?
Yep. In Texas the EPA was even “determining” speed limits (and had set Houston freeways down to 50MPH even though they acknowledged it wouldn’t clean the air).
As if there would be any other reason for “secret science”.

Left wing insanity.
Left wing “science.”
“Democrats and environmental activists have challenged past attempts to bring transparency to studies used in rule making.”
All you need to know.
It is social control
The EPA is an agency of social control by the elite.
It tells people what to do within the minutia of life.
Yesterday a man walked into a facility I was in, in wonder, he had to show his identification to purchase a light bulb.
Bullying and SS level of control.
think about it.
the fact that the EPA buildings are not burned to the ground and their people hunted says more about today’s Americans than anything else.
