2 Republican senators suggest they’d support impeaching Trump if he fired Mueller (Flake & Graham)

Amid recent chatter that Trump could fire special counsel Robert Mueller, Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) both suggested Tuesday that if the president took that step, impeachment would be the appropriate response.

Graham and Flake’s commitments to this position were hardly rock-solid and may well not be shared by very many other Republicans in the Senate (or the House of Representatives, which is where the impeachment process would have to begin). Still, the statements are a significant warning to Trump from two members of his own party about how Mueller’s dismissal could end for him.

First, when asked by radio host Hugh Hewitt Tuesday morning if firing Mueller would be an impeachable offense, Graham responded, “Probably so, if he did it without cause.”

First of all, the president has that Constitutional authority, and secondly, you need an actual crime to impeach the president.

Like Rush always says "impeachment is a political act," not a legal one.

If it were about crime Clinton, as well as Obama, would have been removed from office.

Yeah so now dismissing a prosecutor becomes an impeachable offense? Even when there is no underlying wrongdoing? At this point Mueller has to be out of his mind if he thinks firing Comey could be criminal.

Always makes me wonder if their kids were offered free Harvard education, or jobs, or the senators promised phoney professor positions at universitys when they get voted out? Or do the dems have pics of them with gay prostitutes?

See the post below by Soul of the South. He spells it out quite well.

Impeachment is a political process, not a legal process

Think of the power Trump will have is he fires Mueller...and Congress backs down form it's impeachment threat.

Does Congress really want to give him that power?

This is totally crazy! President Trump has had the NSA bugging the Mueller operation from the beginning! The longer Mueller keeps it up, the more charges he and his merry band of thieves and murderers will face.

Either way, they’re going to try and impeach him. When and if they do, it’s go time.

I wonder how 535 members of Congress will "represent" their various constituencies when they can't safely leave Washington D.C.?

Lindsey Graham deserves to lose everything he's spent his deceitful self-centered life as a moronic politician achieving for himself. He is scum, as is Flake. They are not patriots, are not public servants, and are not deserving of serving in public office.

It is clear, at each and every objective level, that the entire Mueller investigation, the manipulation of Sessions to recuse himself, and the attempt to denigrate and neutralize Trump is a reaction by a shockingly deeply corrupt government trying to protect itself from scrutiny, oversight, and reform. People like Graham and Flake are in no way patriots, and the way they are conducting themselves is indefensible.

Hey, troll-boi.

You must really be getting antsy seeing all the carnage against the Deep State, while President Trump grows in popularity despite all the backstabbing the GOP_e can muster.

Exactly how does 535 divide into 350 million. How many people will be pissed off per Congress person.

We are not going to abide by your corruption this time. If you try to pull this stunt, you will reap the whirlwind.

“‘Our’ fed govt. is so corrupt it cannot be redeemed.”

It can be redeemed, but this will require a mandatory limitation of 10 years total in public office, including local, state, and federal level combined. NO career politicians. Not a single one. 10 years and done. Also, automatic 5 years in prison for any politician that lies to the public.
