Not exactly a big fan of either one so no biggie. Country Western music pretty much died with Johnny Cash.
On his fourth album (The Chase), he jumped the shark big time. He was never the same since. He became the Barry Manilow of country music. Nothing but politically correct pap that was more soft rock then country. Lame soft rock at that. That was around the time he divorced his wife and went with that fellow superstar (Trisha Yearwood). Was never crazy about Trisha's music.
He is not a singer he is a promoter that entertains a little. I think he has a big ranch near Claremore. OK. His current wife Trisha Yearwood had a country cooking show on TV for while, maybe just on YouTube, I don't remember.
Well, he does sing that song about having “friends in low places”
