Mueller is a cop. And there is an unofficial professional subculture of police work of a “code of silence” and a perception, if not a reality, of doing “dirty work” of others. And in the case of the FBI it is sometimes dirty work for politicians. This may explain why Mueller, Rosenstein and Comey were Republican appointees but are opposing a Republican president. They feel that they did the dirty work of the last presidential administration and should not be criminalized for doing so. But they want to be unaccountable for their actions. Even when Trump asked Comey for his loyalty, Comey had a chance to avoid legal trouble but chose to oppose Trump (but not oppose Hillary Clinton). Comey justifies what he did by saying he antagonized both candidates. But behind the scenes his staff were working to “insure” Trump would not be president. Comey invokes the realistic ethics of theologian Reinhold Niebuhr that the only way to do good is to get one’s hands dirty. But Comey would do dirty work for Hillary but not clean work for Trump?

He isn’t a cop. He hasn’t carried a pistol, made a single arrest, or broke up a single fight in his life.

No, he is not a cop.

Was never, is not now, nor, ever will be a, COP.

He’s a political hack. Not very good at his job. But enjoys and enormous amount of top cover for his loyalty to some of the most corrupt people on the planet. He is nothing more than a political hitman.
