In an interview with Wired magazine, Mark Zuckerberg revealed Facebooks political agenda he wants to curb free speech and free expression on the platform in exchange for safety. From the Wired interview:
I think at the heart of a lot of these issues we face are tradeoffs between real values that people care about. You know, when you think about issues like fake news or hate speech, right, its a tradeoff between free speech and free expression and safety and having an informed community. These are all the challenging situations that I think we are working to try to navigate as best we can. (Emphasis added)

His fake site is NOT “trending” the terrorist attack on the air force base today or the hostage situation at a grocer in France but it IS trending a conspiracy theory that Glucifer 2.0 is a Russian agent.
And he expects to be the one informing the public?
There is no safety.
The modern urge for a Safe Society in which no bad thing ever happens to anyone is how we got into the current mess.
Hey, I don’t mind seat belts, and I am not anti-vaccine. There are common sense things you can do to keep yourself safe. But having the government control everything you can and cannot do in the name of safety is not a path to safety. It is a path to great danger.
The criteria for all of these media platform companies should be legal/illegal. Period.
And the trains will run on time too!!

The reason I no longer use Facebook EXCEPT to administer our local Lions Club site. I do not spend any time on a personal site.
When the question becomes freedom or safety, I choose freedom - because as a free man I can keep me and mine safe (or as safe as the government is doing).
