To: ROCKLOBSTER

Never did FB, never will.

I intitially observed it. I thought it could be a good medium for friends to exchange info on social events, etc.

Then I started seeing posts like “I’ve had to change my baby’s diapers four times today”, complete with photos.

I didn’t need that information, and I still try to figure out the motivation behind posting such things. I can see how a new mom would communicate such information to her mother, but why post it to the world?

Then I saw the politics start to come in, and we see what happened with that.

About 40% of Americans don’t use FB, I’m glad I’m in that group.

I admit I’m old-fashioned. I use the telephone, email and snail mail to connect socially.

it is good for that; without it, I would never have known about my 50th reunion, which I greatly enjoyed...and the baby and pet videos never bothered me at all...

what has irked me is the takeover by politics, and the utter incivility it has generated...time to say good bye...
