The weapon used to kill 17 people in last month’s rampage at a high school in Parkland, Fla., was banned from manufacture and sale in the United States for 10 years

That’s not how I remember it. What was banned was AR-15 rifles with certain scary characteristics—barrel threads for flash hiders, bayonet lugs and folding/adjustable stocks. Manufacturers quickly started making AR-15s without those features and they sold like hotcakes. New 30 round mags were also banned, but there were loads of pre-ban mags available.

I doubt if her original ban would have lowered the school’s body count at all. But give her credit—she learns. Now instead of banning features, she wants to ban virtually all semi autos. And since semi-autos can fire as fast as one can pull the trigger, should revolvers be banned as well? (Except for police and military, of course).

Clearly, we should ban trigger fingers.

I’ve been waiting for this realization - fires with each trigger pull (DA that is).
