Let’s face it, the courts will never let him use a cent of that money. That is our current reality. But maybe there is good in making them stop him.

The bill gives him 1.6 billion. He needs 25 billion. He will get the entire wall......He won’t get tangled up in court. The entire amount will come out of the military budget and will be built by the Army Corps.....therefore no need to deal with civilian contractors. The wall will be declared a national security issue, therefore the military can use it’s budget for this expenditure.
General Mattis’s tweet on Friday was no coincidence regarding the wise use of each dollar.

In the DC swamp, they are isolated from the people and fed a steady stream of propaganda that drowns out and obliterates the message from the people. It is not entirely their fault that once they arrive in DC, they actually begin to believe that the people want open borders, government run health care, one-sided trade deals (against US interests), etc., because those are the messages that the Swamp bombards them with, every hour of every day. And the Swamp is as ruthless as Big Brother (of 1984) to those who will not internalize the propaganda. Once they are afflicted with Stockholm syndrome, they become unable to remember the values and interests of those who elected them.

Now that cross dressers are leaving the military, Mr President, you can restore it to greatness by getting rid of the extreme anti Christian bias in the senior ranks, get women out of the combat jobs and eventually homosexuals out of the ranks as well. The Wall is the Rubicon. If Trump is able to build the wall, he will have won in more ways than one (no pun intended).

Let's face it: the Democrats need Illegal Invaders to be Gubment Dependent Gibsmdats and to vote for Democrats for the next five generations. And to be even more blunt and cynical, the Democrats and the Deep State do want our nation strung out on drugs and dying. They really do. It isn't that hard to believe it when you consider the goals of Globalism.

They have to stop the wall, and the "they" includes the traitors McConnell and Ryan.

I've been posting and, in other daily conversations, calling the wetback horde by the rightful term INVADERS for quite a long time.

They trespass our border,
the vast majority of them desire no allegiance to the US,
many refuse to even attempt learning our language (with the craven and enabling acquiescence of countless businesses and government itself)
and those that aren't taking our jobs (with the connivance of criminally complicit employers) come with the sole intention of stealing monetary and/or medical benefits from you, the taxpayer.

Why wasn’t he standing up there with Swampers McConnell and Ryan

There is no victory in this bill for the leaders of the House and Senate. They failed to support the agenda of the President and the same agenda that millions of working class Americans supported when they voted DJT.

By hinting that a veto was being considered and later showing disgust at his announcement, he effectively told both Ryan and McConnell that they had failed in their leadership.

He called McConnell out on the archaic filibuster rule. He called Ryan out indirectly for failing to get a majority vote to fund the wall directly.

President Trump has a long track record of taking what he has been given and making it Golden.

We have to be realistic here. Of course the courts are going to intervene. They will do so by any means necessary, including citing "environmental" or "human rights" staw man.

raybbr is correct when he asserts that monies were not appropriated for this purpose. People who don't understand Federal Budget Law easily throw around the "just Do it" mantra, but these are ironclad and real restrictions.

What Trump is attempting here is to declare National Security (drugs, human trafficking, etc) on the one hand, and based on other stories he is going to attempt to land a left hook on Congress using the 1985 Gramm-Rudman law to sequester funds the Democrats and RINOs have already appropriated, AND he is going to declare a National Emergency to give it teeth.

You might be a few steps behind. He has been saying Drugs are pouring across the borders in alarming numbers since he election. DOD spending on the wall language was slipped into the last $700 billion defense bill. He declared a drug crisis a national emergency in December. On Friday he sent Congress a letter taking about 145 billion (if memory serves) from the just passed omnibus and reallocated it to the national emergency. Now from his tweet it seems clear that he is using the military to help stop the national emergency . (He added to prevent enemy combatants from entering the country for good measure). It seems to me that this has been the strategy for almost a year. If the Dems start crowing about that tweet you’ll know they are catching on. This will continue to play out but make no mistake; Trump hasn’t “thrown us under the bus”

Ok, I will learn patience and realize that this man is NOT like any other politician. He is a brilliant businessman and that’s why I voted for him (and he promised a wall and that the illegals will all leave).
