Get a general discharge for drug use and get caught dealing, don't expect to fall back on being a Vet.

If not for the dealing, I’d be more sympathetic.

He and his whole crew probably enlisted at the same time.

How many years at the Disciplinary Barracks would he have gotten if he was convicted of dealing at court-martial?

He sold 2 pounds(!) of cocaine to an undercover cop. He was not a small scale dealer.

Perez was born in Mexico and came to the United States at age 8 when his father, Miguel Perez Sr., a semi-pro soccer player, moved the family to Chicago because of a job offer
... Anchor baby
Perez enlisted in the Army in 2001, just months before 9/11. He served in Afghanistan from October 2002 to April 2003 and again from May to October 2003.
... Ok, this is good on him. I respect this. However...
He left the Army in 2004 with a general discharge after he was caught smoking marijuana on base.
... He didn't "leave". He was booted. Not uncommon. And he could still redeem himself, however...
In 2010, he was convicted in Cook County, Illinois, on charges related to delivering more than 2 pounds of cocaine to an undercover officer. He was sentenced to 15 years, and had served half his sentence when ICE began deportation proceedings.
Well, Bye.

Perez has said he was surprised to be in ICE detention and mistakenly believed that enlisting in the Army would automatically give him US citizenship, according to his lawyer, Chris Bergin. His retroactive application for citizenship was denied earlier this month. While there are provisions for expediting troops’ naturalization process, a main requirement is that the applicant demonstrate “good moral character,” and the drug conviction was enough to sway the decision against his application, Bergin said.

Yeah. Trying to deal 2 pounds of coke to an undercover agent sort of blows the “good moral character” bit.
To: where's_the_Outrage?
If you commit a felony crime, you’re ineligible for US citizenship. Simple and straight.

So Russia’s current military is estimated to have about 25-35% muslims serving, possibly more.
How many illegals like this guy, currently make up America’s armed forces?

Yep.
You are a guest in this country.
As a guest you are allowed to spit in the fireplace and call the cat a bastard. If you spit on the rug and call the host a bastard we will have to ask you to leave.
We have enough home grown who do that, we do not need to import more.
