Good news that Eddie Munster is going to step down (if true). The House will have to vote on whether or not Scalise replaces him. I think Scalise would be a very good speaker.

Now that would be good news. Rep. Scalise is one of my favorites in D.C. Good man, smart guy, and a fighter.
He has been a great friend to my particular business interests; and as Speaker, constitutional conservative FReepers would be greatly pleased with his acumen, his actions, and his forebearance.
That is a very well crafted rumor. Well crafted in that it sounds believable. Not holding breath, but we will see.
Each spring there are always rumors about Supreme Court Justices ready and willing to step down during the summer.
It almost never happens.
How about the next 10 days? Why wait?

For which party? He's burned all credibility with the base of the GOP and (I expect) the current President.
Speaker Scalise... It has a nice ring to it.
Scalise has survived and healed enough to return to work.
That part is wonderful news. I know nothing about him otherwise. If Scalise gets the position, I hope he’s tough enough to be conservative and not fold up like a chair like the GOPe Globalists do.
If only it was the next 30 - 60 minutes or seconds....

Speaker is voted on by the whole House, and must get an absolute majority voting.
That means that right now 20 or so RINOs could force the House to choose a more ‘moderate’ Speaker than Scalise, and doing so would not enable Pelosi and the Dems.
