U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio was in full-alarm mode Tuesday on the second day of a two-week swing around the state during the spring recess.
He warned that President Donald Trumps scheduled meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jung-un is potentially dangerous and counter-productive. He warned of Chinas unprecedented and steady attempt at displacing the U.S. as the world economic power. And he warned the National Rifle Association that if it doesnt focus its energy on reducing mass shootings, the Second Amendment could be at stake.
I would argue today that perhaps the single, biggest threats to the Second Amendment are these mass shootings because if it werent for mass shootings and gun crime you wouldnt see this outcry,″ Rubio said at a meeting with reporters at his Tallahassee office in the Florida state Capitol. Its awakening the conscience of the country.
He called Trumps visit with Jung-un counter-productive because it will be used just to give him a platform to look important,″ adding that he doesnt know if the meeting is ever going to take place or not.
Rubio said he was doubtful that Jung-un was interested in denuclearization.
I am very doubtful that he will ever surrender his nuclear weapons because, for him, that is his life insurance,″ Rubio said. That is what keeps him in power. Because he is fearful of becoming [deposed Libyan leader Muammar] Gaddafi and fearful of becoming [executed Iraqi president] Saddam Hussein and hes a young man. Hes got to figure out how to hold onto power for 50-60 years.
He said Jung-un benefits from the meeting more than Trump because the dictator lured an American president into a meeting and it helps him in his quest to be accepted as a global power.

F**K YOU LITTLE MARCO! Stand up like a man and fight ya big pussy.
Wtf....does this dick have the John Mc Cain gene
Marco is off his meds again. Will somebody please call his wife to come get him?
If you want gun control, Marco, you can swim back to Cuba and take that Gonzalez chick with you!
And who appointed little Marco as the most senior statesman from on high? Little Marco sounds like someone who is thrilled that he has discovered that water runs downhill, before anyone else.
It was a mistake to re-elect this weasel after his amnesty betrayal.
The NRA has a very effective security program for schools. More schools should take advantage ofit.
Who is this guy preaching too? He is at odds with the Republican base.
And to think there were some serious conservatives who thought Little Marco would of made a great president! Wow, hes been heading lately into Flake and Goober Graham territory.
This little twit and Bill Nelson are my US Senators.
Am I frustrated?
A warning from Liddle Marco or a smack with a wet noodle, which is worse?
Sounds like Little Marco has been watching CNN and reading the Washington Post again. These “guys” are so easy for the Left to gaslight.
Marco is all over the board on his policy positions. I can’t seem to discern any overarching principles or world view which inform his actions. Generally, he seems to take whatever position will get the most publicity.
I went over to the breaking news column and didn’t find anything about CBS This Morning, this morning. Their lead “Breaking News” story was another (two days in a row) interview with the loudmouth Stormy lawyer. What was this breaking news that LED the 7am newscast - the slug lawyer was going to sue to put Trump into a deposition.
My my, these clowns on CBD This morning are eating too many Blue pills.
rubio is starting his 2020 run.
Marco Flake! Marco McCain! Marco Goober Graham!
I guess it’s up to the NRA to fix society’s ills. Obviously the presence of guns has been with us long before nut cases started shooting up gun free zones...what could be the problem?
C’mon NRA, could it be your insistence on the Second Amendment has caused gun free zones?
