A LOT of jobs created by Amazon and Walmart.

I like me free 2 day shipping, I like ordering online, I like rewards programs, and I dont see any laws being broken or capitalism not in action.

If they are too big and the government thinks they are a monopoly, then they should do what they need to do.

I can live without mom and pop.

A lot of jobs are destroyed also.

Not all bad, but remember our forefathers didn’t like one corporation to have all the power.

Bezos went to court to prevent states from charging him sales tax that he clearly should be paying.

His ENTIRE business model is based on being 10% behind in-store retail prices based on this.

The decrement in sales tax results in higher income and property taxes as states and municipalities try to stay afloat. So he causes even MORE civic destruction with his legal tactic.

Let him pay the damn tax like everyone else and see if his business model works when he has to follow the laws too.

I am not comfortable with the government somehow “leveling the playing field” - whatever that means. There is a lot of competition right now. If monopolies develop then there are existing laws that should come into play.

There is a larger problem here that will affect all of us and it’s not pretty. Eventually there will be few brick and mortar stores left. Everything will be bought online. I like seeing some products in person before buying. That notion will go away.

Then mom and pop end up on welfare, where tax-subsidized (directly and indirectly) Bezosland wants them.

We do not have a free market; we have a bastard market that Lex Luthor / Citizen Kane is allowed to exploit.

I collect books for free from library discards. It’s a rare thing that I actually buy a book.

“I can live without mom and pop.”

Please rethink your position on ‘Mom and Pop”. Buying from them will not only keep the money circulating in the community you live in, but it works to starve the very beast that working against America’s interests. On immigration, for example.
