.... Religion is reclaiming cinema for sacred purposes at a rate never seen in history, with faith-based movies exploding from an obscure cottage industry last century into a multi-billion-dollar business. ..... "You can add faith-based movies to the list of genres that you can count on as box office, as much as you can count on any genre. But these movies have to come from an authentic place," comScore senior media analyst Paul Dergarabedian told AFP. ....

We’re not quite there yet, since the obvious race-signalling “Black Panther” really raked it in ($631.3 million in North America, 5th all-time). Jennifer Lawrence’ “Red Sparrow” fell to the ground dead after some initial success — looks like they missed covering production costs, and gave JL some new imaginary male privilege thing to bitch about.

Some of the change is bound to be, uh subtle, like the “Death Wish” remake (which just barely made back its production costs).

Rosanne’s TV return outdrew its original finale episode. I can’t imagine I’ll watch it, because I’ve never been able to stand the sound of her voice or her standup.

Waiting for it to come out on DVD, also want to see the new Sorbo movie that follows after the Resurrection, and Jim Caviezel to Play Jesus Again in Mel Gibson’s ... “‘The Passion of the Christ’ sequel. I want to own them. So I can watch them any time I want to.

Every Christmas and Easter I put the Nativity and the Passion of the Christ on to watch. They inspire me.

I want to see Entebbe but I’m holding back because of the reports that it shows the terrorists in a sympathetic light and criticizes the Israeli government. Has anyone here seen the film and what do you think?

Now we have this film, ‘I Can Only Imagine’ based on a number one hit by a contemporary ‘Christian’ music group (Mercy Me). But the question remains . . . how much ‘Bible’ will it feature? And much more importantly, how much of the true Gospel of faith without works be presented? Will film goers be confronted with the reality that before they can be ‘saved’ they must show that they are ‘lost’ and on their way to hell? Will they be shown that only the blood of Christ is sufficient to wash away their sins - and not a pool of water in a baptistry?

I saw it. It checked all your boxes. Especially the ending after the end.

The film will be at our theater next Saturday. I will watch it and eat vast quantities of popcorn.

I would love to see a cinematic portrayal of Christ’s returning to Jerusalem. It is said there were over a million people in a quarter mile area cheering as he entered the city. Then a few days later He was crucified.

That has always been true, and everyone in unholywood could tell you that they do not give a damn. It has long been known that G and PG movies make much more money than R rated movies, but unholywood could really care less. They will always prefer violence and depravity to Godliness because by and large, they are tools of Satan, not the Lord.

Even woefully underfinanced genuine religious movies make serious bucks.

The movie Paul was cheaply made as the sets and costumes revealed. Lighting was poor, dingy, hiding set details purposely. Plot was plodding. Strange accents inconsistent with historical context.
